Day 3 - Lights out! Lights Off!

Woke up at Ron's place to find the Tims in matching Broncos jerseys and although I want to find out more about how they managed to sync their attire before they fell asleep, there's no time. We need to head out. We got a non-working bass amp and have to figure out what's wrong with it before the show tonight. One of the Tims is still pretty drunk so they take a minute to climb and hump a speed hump sign before leaving. For what its worth, the sign seemed happy but probably won't call in the morning.

Getting to Redding wasn't too tough of a drive, but we're still sweating the amp so we pull into a music shop. He points to a radio shack to find a fuse. We need a 10amp fuse and it should work. Not versed in the language of fuse, we get the only 10amp fuse they got and head back to the music shop. The guy at the music shop says we need a slow-blow fuse. Like a Mike Meyers movie, I ask him were the nearest slow-blow is available, the Tims hit a rimshot nearby and I walk backwards out of the store with hands raised. Giggity.

Thankfully the fuse works and it's off to find the cheapest hotel in Redding. We settle up at the Pine Lodge. Best part about getting a room is that it is the first shower since Denver. J-Dew would be so pissed right now. I bet he showers right after reading this. Anyway, we've heard that the town we're in is known for weed, but I move to motion that it should be known for it's shower pressure. That thing was like a fire hose! You remember that scene in Rambo when Rambo gets arrested and they blast him with the hose? That's what's up in Redding, CA.   Their theme is exfoliation.

Showered, and ready, we head out to the venue. Bombays is great and it is awesome to catch up with the Guttermouth dudes. It's a small venue, but the place gets packed and everyone is ready to go. It's game time for the Tims and they crush it. We have a great set and a good response from the crowd.

Next up Guttermouth. They come up and the crowd goes nuts. But then somewhere about halfway through their set, the power goes out. Way out. Nothing like sitting in the dark with a packed house of full of drunk punks! Luckily not too much chaos ensues. Ed is in the back selling merch with a a flashlight and telling ghost stories. The power never goes back on, so eventually we just pack up and load out.

During load out, in the rain, Ed is in the back of the trailer loading, packing, Edding. One Small detail left out. Can't leave the lights on in the car during load out. Fuck. Car won't start. We're all tired and drunk and soaking wet. Luckily, Guttermouth is still around to jump us. It takes about 30 minutes to get it to go, but finally we roll out to try and sleep for a few before driving through a storm to get to Medford.
